Velvet/Flocked Inserts (Luxury)
Velvet and flocked inserts use a rigid substrate — thermoformed plastic, cardboard, or foam — coated with a soft textile layer. Flocking applies short fiber particles (typically nylon or rayon) electrostatically to an adhesive-coated surface, creating a uniform soft texture. Velvet inserts use actual woven velvet fabric glued over the substrate. Both processes produce a surface that feels luxurious to the touch and holds products securely with friction.
These inserts are used in jewelry boxes, watch packaging, luxury cosmetics, pens and writing instruments, and premium gift sets. The soft surface protects delicate items from scratches and creates an unboxing experience associated with high-end retail. Common colors include black, navy, red, and ivory, with custom colors available on production orders.
