Plastic Tray Inserts (PET/PP Thermoformed)
Thermoformed plastic trays are produced by heating a flat PET (polyethylene terephthalate) or PP (polypropylene) sheet and vacuum-forming it over a mold. The plastic conforms to the mold contours, creating recessed pockets, channels, and supports sized to the product. PET produces a clear tray with glass-like transparency; PP produces a more flexible tray in natural or pigmented colors.
Thermoformed trays are used in cosmetics, confectionery, medical device packaging, food presentation, and retail display. Clear PET trays are preferred when the insert creates a premium visual impression. PP is preferred for heavier-duty applications or where flexibility is needed for product insertion and removal.
