Corrugated Box
Pizza Box
The pizza box is a one-piece corrugated container with a hinged lid, designed to fold up from a flat blank without adhesive. It's typically made from B-flute (2.2 to 3.0 mm) or E-flute (1.0 to 1.8 mm) corrugated board. The box features self-locking tabs that snap together at the corners, vent holes in the lid for steam release, and a square footprint optimized for stacking. Food-grade coatings on the interior resist grease and moisture penetration.
The engineering challenge with pizza boxes is balancing insulation (keeping the pizza warm) with ventilation (releasing steam so the crust doesn't get soggy).
