Hinged Lid Box
The hinged lid box is a one-piece rigid structure where the lid connects to the base through a laminated paper or fabric hinge along the back edge. The lid swings open and stays attached, so there's no separate piece to lose or misalign. Construction starts with chipboard (1mm to 3mm) that's die-cut and scored, then wrapped in paper or specialty material. The hinge is created during the wrapping process, where the cover material bridges the gap between the lid and base panels.
Closure options include embedded magnets, ribbon ties, or simple gravity (the lid's weight holds it shut).
