Rigid Box
Cylinder/Round Box
Cylinder rigid boxes are built by rolling and layering sheets of recycled paperboard into a tube, then adding a flat or telescoping circular lid and base. The number of paper layers determines the wall thickness and strength. The exterior is wrapped in printed or specialty paper, and the rolled edges at the top and bottom are finished for a smooth surface. Standard sizing typically ranges from 2.5 to 6 inches in diameter and 4 to 24 inches in height.
The round shape distributes pressure evenly across the walls, which gives cylinder boxes good compression resistance relative to their material weight.
