Molded Pulp Inserts (Eco-Friendly)
Molded pulp inserts are formed by slurrying recycled paper, cardboard, or bagasse fiber and pressing it into a mold to create a three-dimensional tray. There are two main grades: thick-wall (rough surface, typical of egg cartons) and thermoformed (smooth, dense surface suitable for retail-visible packaging). The drying process locks the tray into a rigid shape that mirrors the product geometry.
Molded pulp is widely adopted as a sustainable alternative to plastic foam and thermoformed trays. It is compostable, made from recycled content, and increasingly required in markets with plastic packaging restrictions. Common applications include electronics accessories, cosmetic inserts, food service trays, beverage carriers, and pharmaceutical packaging.
