Corrugated Box
Hazmat Box
The Hazmat Box is a corrugated fiberboard shipping container that has been tested and certified to meet United Nations packaging standards for transporting dangerous goods. These boxes carry a UN marking (such as 4G or 4GV) stamped on the exterior. 4G boxes are tested and approved with specific inner packaging configurations; 4GV boxes (the "V" stands for variation) allow flexibility in inner packaging choices. Both types must pass UN performance tests including drop, stacking, vibration, and leakproofness evaluations, with retesting required every 12 months.
The UN marking includes a packing group designation: X (suitable for Packing Groups I, II, and III, which covers high to low danger), Y (Groups II and III), or Z (Group III only), followed by a maximum gross weight in kilograms.
